Meet Our Expert Panelists
Shomit Ghose is a partner at Clearvision Ventures, a Silicon Valley Venture fund focused on energy and infrastructure sustainability. Previously, he was general partner at ONSET Ventures, where he led investments in early-stage, data-centric start-ups from 2001 through 2021. Prior to entering venture capital, Shomit spent 19 years as a start-up entrepreneur, serving in virtually all functional roles, and participating in multiple successful exits, including Sun Microsystems, Broadvision and Tumbleweed. Shomit has held an appointment as lecturer at UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering since 2018, teaching about data and AI, and is also an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of San Francisco. He further holds an appointment as an entrepreneurial advisor at the University of California – Riverside. Shomit has served on both public and private boards, and multiple scientific advisory boards, in both the US and Europe. He received his degree in computer science from UC Berkeley, and is proudly a product of California’s public school system.

Dr. Ochoa is the Associate Vice Chancellor for Technology Partnerships at the University of California Riverside. Her office leads all activities related to technology transfer, corporate research partnerships and entrepreneurial support programs for the University. She leads programs that support strategic regional economic development based on technology entrepreneurship and workforce development this includes the OASIS Regional Economic Development Initiative that will build the first $50 Million Innovation Park focused on sustainability in the Inland Empire. Since joining UC Riverside in mid- 2016, she has raised over $24 million to build a regional innovation ecosystem for technology startups. She has built a team of 24 associates and 20 entrepreneurs in residence driving the commercialization of academic research, training of the entrepreneurial workforce and supporting technology entrepreneurs start and grow their companies in the Inland Southern California. Her team negotiates over 300 sponsored research and licensing agreements with industry and startups per year and manages a portfolio of over 200 patents. Her Office’s entrepreneurship programs have supported more than 600 technology ventures that have raised over $74 Million in capital and created more than 500 jobs. Her team manages a tech focused incubator and a life science incubator located on the University Campus. Dr. Ochoa is the Co-chair of the education committee in the UC wide initiative for inclusive entrepreneurship and member of the UC President’s Committee on Entrepreneurship. Under her leadership, she drove the creation of the Highlander Venture Capital Fund, the first fund focused on the Inland Empire and the launch of the Riverside Angels Investment Conference and now she has partnered with the City of Riverside for the construction of an Urban Agriculture Technology Innovation Center. Dr. Ochoa Dr. Ochoa has led the creation of international entrepreneurial programs in Latin America, including a strategic partnership with KnowHUB Chile, the partnership with the Organization of American States and with Eurosemillas, a global innovator in agriculture. She has served on the Riverside County Workforce Development Board, the Inland Empire Latina Businesswomen Association, Riverside ExCITE, the Alliance of Southern California and the Governing Council of United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries. In June of 2023, she was named Female Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities, in Barcelona, Spain This year, she led a consortium of regional partners from the Inland Southern California to secure the designation of Inclusive Innovation Hub by the California Office of the Small Business Advocate. Prior to joining UC Riverside, Dr. Ochoa led the von Liebig Entrepreneurism Center at the UC San Diego where she co-founded My StartupXX a technology accelerator focused on women entrepreneurs. Rosibel received a PhD and MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville. She is the inventor of two issued patents and the author of more than 18 scientific publications.
